First post in 8 months or so. I'm back in college doing a Masters in Music and Media Technology. Ended up having to buy a set of plugins that required me to use Windows. I also had to install Adobe Creative Cloud. I swear to God, thew FIRST chance I get to get this junk of my computer, I'm taking it. I'm going to make it my mission in life to see how I can generate computer art without having to use Windows!!!
Here's one example of how crap Windows is. On Windows machines, there is a "My Documents" folder. I try to open it and I get:
 

Now I know that my user is added to the administrator group. So I run "Powershell" (hehe, what a fucking joke), I even run it in Administrator mode. I get this:

 

So I look up the solution in the web. Remember, all I want to do is access my folder, I AM effectively the administrator of ther system.

If anybody ever reads this blog, I'm not going to bother detailing the fix for this. Its an insult to even have to use this crap in the first place.

The course I'm doing is really cool. I have to use MAX/MSP which only runs on Windows or Mac. I will not be using it again. I would prefer to use CSound, which runs on Linux. I also took a module in Creative Coding, which uses Processing. I intend to get in to OpenFrameworks also.
Get me back to Void Linux ! I cant fecking wait.
